The Friends of All Saints’, Pittville, Cheltenham is an organisation set up specifically to help maintain the fabric of the building which is the quite beautiful and magnificent Grade One listed, Middleton designed Church.
All Saints’ Church is one of five Cheltenham churches designed by John Middleton. It was consecrated in 1868 by the then Bishop of Gloucester and has since served the communities of Pittville and Cheltenham as a place of worship as a Parish church, a concert venue, an arts venue, an exhibition venue and a venue for local school services.
All Saints’ the building is designed in the French Gothic Style and exquisitely decorated inside in the style of the Arts and Crafts movement including a particularly fine Burne-Jones designed stained glass window and a Sir William Richmond designed fresco, all of which take a lot of care and expense to maintain, which is where the ‘Friends of All Saints’’ come in. Over the years we have been able to financially support the Church PCC with many projects, ranging from Altar dressings through renewed lighting, to contributing towards building and restoration projects.
Whilst we are pleased to be able to have supported the Church in these projects to maintain its wonderful fabric, we ourselves have to raise money to be able to assist in this way. To enable us to do this, we offer a range of membership options from annual single adult, annual joint adult, and life memberships. We also raise funds by holding a range of interesting and diverse bi-monthly talks, evening suppers, outings, fetes, and other fun events.
If you would like to support us in our endeavours, please consider joining the Friends of All Saints’, or supporting one or some of our events. You can do so by either visiting the church and picking up a membership leaflet, or visiting our website www.foaschelt.org.uk, or by sending us an email firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your support
